Moments

Moments are your shared chronicle: trips, celebrations, outings – with photos, videos, files, places and participants. The overview sorts by year; the detail view holds info and media.

Good to know

• Photos and videos need a connected family cloud and Pro for the family that owns the moment.
• Exception: If you are invited to a moment, you can join and use media – without your own Pro. The inviting family’s cloud applies.
• On Free there is a limit for your own moments (currently 4); invited/shared moments don’t count.
• Planned moments (in the future) can be removed from the timeline with Hide and shown again later.
• Viewer links for guests without a Famunio account are possible – expiry is chosen by whoever creates the link.

Overview & timeline

Moments appear chronologically, grouped by year. Years can expand and collapse. Each entry shows title, date range and often a preview image.

With + New you create a moment. The eye icon hides or shows planned moments.

Creating a moment

When creating (or editing), typically:

• Title and optional notes
• Date or range (From / To)
• Places and participants
• later media, files and links in the detail view

Participants can come from the family or be invited via Contacts (one person or a whole family, depending on the link).

Media, files & upload

In the detail view you upload photos and videos. Many files at once: Famunio shows “Preparing files…”, then the upload button in the same place.

Media land in the host family’s BYO cloud (OneDrive, Google Drive or kDrive) – Famunio does not store the files itself.

Without the host family’s cloud and Pro there is no media upload for your own moments. As an invitee, the invitation is enough; you don’t need Pro for that.

Sharing & viewer link

Besides Famunio participants you can create a viewer link: read without an account, expiry chosen when creating. All participants can create a link.

Moment admins can manage participants.
